Neck Botox in
Birmingham, AL.
The platysma is the thin, sheet-like muscle that runs from your collarbone up into your jawline. Over time, and especially with expression or muscle tension, it can pull into visible vertical cords down the front of the neck, most noticeable when you talk, strain, or look down. Platysmal band treatment uses precisely placed neurotoxin to relax that muscle, softening the bands and refining the neck's profile without surgery or downtime.
Patients come to us for neck treatment for two different reasons and often both:
Visible neck bands. As the platysma tightens with age, habit, or expression, the vertical cords become more noticeable, especially on camera or when animated. Relaxing the muscle softens those bands both at rest and in motion.
Jawline definition. Because the platysma also pulls downward on the lower face, relaxing it can ease that pull, sometimes called the "Nefertiti" effect, for a subtly more lifted, defined jawline without touching the jaw muscle itself.
Why choose STILL Studios for neck Botox
The neck sits close to muscles involved in swallowing and head position, so placement and dosing matter more here than almost anywhere else on the face. At STILL Studios, every treatment plan is overseen by Elizabeth Adams, MD, and neurotoxin is all we do. That single-category focus, no fillers, no lasers, no menu of distractions, is exactly what you want for a technique-sensitive treatment like this one.
Platysmal band treatment is a flat rate at STILL: $525 ($475 for members), unlimited units. You know the price before you book. See all pricing →
What to expect
- Assessment. We'll ask you to tense your neck so we can map the visible bands and talk through your goals — softening the cords, refining the jawline, or both.
- Treatment. A series of small injections placed along the bands. The visit takes about 20 minutes, and most patients describe the injections as quick pinches.
- No downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately. Avoid rubbing the area and strenuous neck exercise for the rest of the day.
- Results. Most patients notice the bands relaxing within 3–7 days, with full effect visible by about 2 weeks.
How long does neck Botox last?
Results typically last 3–4 months. The platysma is a thin, frequently used muscle, so treatment here tends to soften a bit sooner than areas like the masseter; we'll help you find the maintenance rhythm that keeps the bands from becoming visible again.
Frequently asked questions
- Will neck Botox affect my voice or swallowing?
- When placement and dosing are correct, it shouldn't. That's exactly why an experienced, physician-led injector matters most in this area, and why STILL treats the neck as a specialty service rather than an afterthought.
- Is neck Botox FDA-approved?
- Botox is an FDA-approved medication; its use for platysmal bands is a common off-label application, and a routine, physician-directed treatment in aesthetics.
- Will it also help my jawline?
- Many patients notice a subtly more lifted, defined jawline as the platysma relaxes and stops pulling downward, often called the "Nefertiti" effect.
- How much does neck Botox cost in Birmingham?
- At STILL Studios it's a flat $525 ($475 for members) with unlimited units — no per-unit math, no surprises.
